ストーリー
絵本作家の夕闇ほたるは、愛犬・はなこを亡くした。 何もできなかった自分を悔やんでも悔やみきれない、暗くて深い悲しみの底にいた。 そんなある日、庭の雪柳の下にまピンク色のきのこが生えていることに気づく。 彼がぼんやり眺めていると、それは突然動き出し、しっぽをぶんぶん振って寄ってくる。 「きのこの…犬?」 疑問に思いながらも、この謎の生きものと一緒に暮らすことに。 すると、描いちゃいけないところにお絵かきして、メロンパンもたこ焼きも全部食べちゃって、散らかし放題気まま放題。だけど、とぼけた様子がなんだか憎めない。 幼なじみの編集者こまこちゃんやきのこ研究所の矢良くんたちも巻き込んだ、きのこいぬと過ごす毎日は、少しずつほたるの表情を変えていく。 いろいろ謎すぎるきのこいぬとほたるとみんなの、いっしょにいるとなんだか楽しい笑える日々を描く、ちょこっと不思議ほんわかアニメーション。
Picture book author Hotaru Yugami lost her beloved dog, Hanako. She was in the depths of a dark and deep sadness, unable to repent for what she had done. One day, he notices a pink mushroom growing under the snow willow tree in his garden. As he gazed at it idly, it suddenly began to move, wagging its tail and coming close to him. “A mushroom…? A dog? Despite his doubts, he decides to live with this mysterious creature. It draws where it is not supposed to draw, eats melon bread and takoyaki (octopus dumplings), and does whatever it pleases. However, the enigmatic creature’s playful attitude is hard to hate. The days she spends with the mushroom dog, including her childhood friend Komako-chan, an editor, and Yara-kun of the Mushroom Research Institute, gradually change Hotaru’s expression. This is a slightly mysterious and heartwarming animation that depicts the funny days of Hotaru and everyone with Kinoko Inu, who is too mysterious in many ways, and their fun together.
